Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Kansas City, MO is hiring for forklift operator roles on multiple shifts. You will safely operate a sit-down forklift, load/unload trailers, and maintain accurate shipment records while following all safety guidelines.

The role requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays, with orientation on day shift before assignment to 2nd or 3rd shift. Qualified candidates have at least six months in a sit-down forklift environment and experience using a computer or scan

Qualifications

• Six months minimum sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or scan gun for documentation and/or record-keeping functions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers.
• Ensure loads are properly secured and in good condition.
• Ensure accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
• Pull whip and raw material for production support.
• Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least 8 hours a day.

Salary

• $23.96 per hour
• 2nd Shift Differential - three dollars per hour = $26.96
• 3rd Shift Differential - Two dollars per hour = $25.96
• You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the plant.

Shift

• Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift.
• The first two (2) weeks of orientation will be on day shift, then you will be assigned your 2nd OR 3rd shift after your orientation.

Shift Hours

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Starts Monday night)
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

What Will Put You Ahead

• One year or more of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry.
