Job summary

UFP Industries in North Carolina seeks a Forklift Operator I responsible for moving material from inventory to production and back, ensuring proper paperwork and records. You will provide production with materials according to the schedule to keep operations flowing.

Responsibilities include moving materials between stations, labeling and packaging finished goods, supporting production bottlenecks, and maintaining inventory records. Safety and adherence to company policies are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade basic education; HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift driving experience preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Must successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move material between inventory, production, and finished goods per schedule.
• Band, wrap, pack, and label finished goods as needed.
• Move finished goods to inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and material needs.
• Perform general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report issues.
• Maintain organized inventory yard for rough material and finished goods.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift safety rules per company policy.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
