Job summary

ofi is seeking a material handler/forklift operator in Edenton, NC to move production and materials throughout the facility and on/off trucks. The role requires operating a forklift (certification), loading/unloading, and ensuring product quality per customer orders.

You’ll perform daily safety checks, weigh materials, and maintain documentation while working on site in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to read/write and perform basic math,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one year related experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions. Understand written and oral communications and instructions.
• Initiative and self-starting ability is important.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves product, ingredients, and other material with a forklift throughout the plant and surrounding area in a safe manner following all safety procedures.
• Become and maintain certification to operator a forklift.
• Ensure proper operation of all processing equipment for area they are trained and ensuring the quality of product as specified by customer orders.
• Weigh materials or products as necessary along with completing and maintaining all documentation accurately.
• Inventory materials in production area and supplies workers with materials as needed.
• Performs daily forklift inspection along with any other safety inspections or checks as required.
• Will be responsible for moving materials and product onto and off pallets, skids or lifting device.
