Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator I in Salisbury, NC to move materials between inventory and production per schedule, and to return finished goods to storage. You will maintain accurate paperwork and production records to ensure smooth flow of materials through the line.

The role supports production by addressing bottlenecks and assisting with material needs, while performing routine equipment checks and adhering to company safety rules. Prior forklift licensing is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade basic education; High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience required; forklift driving experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another as needed.
• Band, wrap and/or pack finished goods, and label material.
• Move finished goods to the inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report issues.
• Maintain organized rough material and finished goods inventory yard.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and company policies.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
