Job summary

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a qualified Sit-Down Forklift Operator/Material Handler to support day-to-day shipping and receiving activities. The role includes handling customer service to truck drivers and the production floor while emphasizing organization, dependability, and accountability.

Responsibilities include inspecting forklifts, verifying material counts, coordinating with shipping/receiving, and ensuring production readiness.

Qualifications

2+ years’ experience as forklift operator in production or distribution environment.
Able to read, write, communicate efficiently, and follow instructions on factory masters.
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.

Responsibilities

Complete and document a sit-down forklift inspection form before the shift and when operating a new forklift.
Verify counts as materials leave or enter the warehouse/production area.
Work with shipping and receiving on incoming and outgoing materials.
Ensure all jobs are pulled and ready for the next shift’s production run.
Record materials removed from production lines on the correct form and ensure proper banding/wrapping.
