Job summary

Haynes International is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our production team. You will operate a sit-down forklift and packaging equipment, read and follow work orders from computerized instructions, and perform basic math to control quantities and weights of product.

This role requires at least one year of forklift experience, the ability to lift 50 lbs, attention to detail, basic computer skills, and clear English understanding.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit down forklift and packaging equipment including hoists.
• Read and understand work orders from computerized instructions.

• Report faulty equipment or safety hazards to supervision.
• Perform pre/post inspections for safe work conditions.
• Keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Work overtime as needed.

Material Handler/Forklift Operator Responsibilities

• Operate a sit down forklift truck and packaging equipment including hoists
• Read and understand work orders and assignments from computerized instructions
• Perform and understand basic math to control quantities and weights of product
• Ability to lift 50-60 pound containers occasionally
• Report to the Supervisor any faulty equipment or other safety hazards
• Perform routine post and pre-inspections to ensure safe work conditions
• Perform general clean-up tasks to keep work area clean and free of excess debris
• Ability to work overtime as needed

What We Expect Of a Material Handler/Forklift Operator

• At least one-year experience operating a forklift
• Frequent walking, bending, twisting, and lifting
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail and ability to check your own work for accuracy
• Basic computer knowledge
• Be able to understand basic English. Ability to speak fluent English is not necessary
