The ideal candidate has at least 2+ years of construction forklift experience, is comfortable performing physical work outdoors, communicates confidently in both English and Spanish, and takes pride in keeping a busy yard safe, organized, and productive.

What You Will Do
  • Forklift and Equipment Operation
  • Safely operate forklifts to move, stage, load, unload, and organize construction materials.
  • Move steel, fencing materials, lumber, fabricated products, pallets, equipment, and related supplies.
  • Operate skid steers or other yard equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
  • Position materials in designated inventory, staging, fabrication, and yard areas.
  • Assist with large, long, heavy, or unusual loads requiring additional planning or equipment.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and promptly report damage, maintenance needs, or unsafe conditions.
  • Material Handling and Order Staging
  • Stage materials for deliveries, fabrication, field crews, and internal departments.
  • Verify materials against pick tickets, work orders, and staging instructions before release.
  • Count, identify, organize, and place materials accurately.
  • Assist with receiving incoming shipments and checking for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Identify and tag materials for restocking, repair, return, or scrap.
  • Communicate material shortages, incorrect items, inventory concerns, or staging issues quickly.
  • Work closely with Inventory, Dispatch, Shop, Yard, and Field teams to prioritize material movement.
  • Bilingual Communication
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both English and Spanish throughout the workday.
  • Translate or clarify work instructions when needed to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Communicate safety expectations, material information, load instructions, and changing priorities in both languages.
  • Coordinate with English- and Spanish-speaking coworkers, drivers, supervisors, and field personnel.
  • Help prevent misunderstandings by confirming instructions, quantities, locations, and priorities.
  • Yard Operations and Safety
  • Maintain organized material racks, storage areas, loading zones, and travel paths.
  • Keep forklift routes, driveways, loading areas, and work zones clear of obstructions.
  • Assist with general yard cleanup, scrap removal, and material organization.
  • Secure materials and loads when needed to prevent shifting, damage, or unsafe conditions.
  • Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrians, vehicles, equipment, overhead hazards, and changing yard conditions.
  • Take initiative and remain productive during slower periods or between assigned moves.
Required Qualifications
  • Fluent or professionally proficient in both English and Spanish.
  • At least 2+ years of professional construction forklift operating experience.
