Job summary

Total Staffing Solutions in Batavia, IL seeks a reliable Material Handler / Forklift Operator for 1st shift (4:00 AM–4:00 PM, Sun–Tue). You will move, store, and manage materials using forklifts to support production and shipping.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, updating inventory, inspecting equipment, following safety rules, and performing general warehouse tasks. Must stand 8+ hours; safety gear provided.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Ability to read shipments and maintain basic records.
• Commitment to safety procedures and PPE usage.
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks, verify incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Move materials to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete necessary documentation.
• Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
• Cutting boards down to size using specifications.
• Coating foam boards with mortar, a light/wet cement.
• Trimming the boards to remove excess mortar from the sides to clean them up for sale.
• Lift 50 lbs. regularly.
