Job summary

Logistec in Houston, TX seeks a heavy forklift operator for 30K forklift operations handling steel cargo at the terminal, dock, and railcars. You must have 6 months of experience and a valid license to operate safely.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, mounting/dismounting, proper loading practices, and equipment inspection. Flexibility for nights and weekends is required; an active TWIC card is preferred and safety rules must be followed.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience operating heavy equipment is required.
• A valid license with acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Supervisors and co-workers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate a <=30K forklift safely in the terminal, dock, and railcar environments.
• Load/unload cargo, including boxes, pallets, rebar, and pipes, with appropriate attachments.
• Mount/dismount the forklift using proper three-point contact and safe procedures.
• Operate forklift controls (clutch, tilt, lift, attachments, steering) and stack loads squarely at safe heights.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and report any issues to maintenance or supervision.
• Follow all safety policies and stop-work authority as required; ensure cargo is loaded into correct containers.
