Overview

The Forklift Operator II is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and may also perform order filling or checking duties. This role requires operating multiple types of forklifts, including sit-down/stand-up, clamp, cherry, and reach trucks, with certification on at least three types of equipment. Operators should spend at least 50% of their time on these equipment types.

Responsibilities

1. Stack and store merchandise using various forklifts, dedicating at least 50% of service time to equipment operation.
2. Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage.
3. Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring accuracy in quantity and type.
4. Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
5. Move products from staging or storage into trailers.
6. Operate all equipment safely following prescribed work methods.
7. Maintain records for inventory control and security.
8. Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
9. Conduct cycle counts as needed.
10. Have knowledge of Excel and general computer skills.
11. Understand basic safety procedures for operating equipment and report concerns promptly.
12. Report inventory discrepancies and assist in resolution.
13. Complete inspection forms before operating equipment.
14. Use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
2. At least 1 year of forklift or warehouse equipment experience.
3. Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to work in variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions.
5. Availability for irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
6. Attention to detail, customer service skills, and basic math skills.

The hourly rate for this position starts at $18.75 per hour, with potential additional pay based on shift work. Employees are eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, wellness, life insurance, paid time off, and parental leave.
