Job description

Forklift Operator II

Location: New Lenox, IL

Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Wage: $21.69 per hour + $3.00 shift differential

Summary

The Forklift Operator II is responsible for safely operating complex powered material handling equipment (such as Order Picker, Turret, Drexel) to facilitate product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This role ensures product safety, quality, legality, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full case order picking for replenishment, customer orders, and packaging components.
• Retrieve and store pallets in narrow aisle bulk rack storage systems.
• Conduct quality control to ensure transaction accuracy.
• Load and unload pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, manually or with equipment.
• Sort, build, and wrap products onto pallets to meet customer expectations.
• Maintain storage location accuracy through daily cycle counts and routine inventory tasks.
• Perform additional distribution tasks as needed based on business volume.

Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience operating powered material handling equipment; 1+ years preferred.
• Must meet PPE and fall protection requirements.
• Ability to operate equipment like Order Picker, Turret, Drexel, etc.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Customer service oriented and a strong team player.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

With or without accommodations, ability to follow policies, interpret information, perform basic math, handle items, and work in a warehouse environment. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for the duration of the shift. Visual acuity required.
