Job summary

NFI is seeking a Forklift Operator I to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in the Hazleton area. You will operate forklifts safely, assist with order filling and checking, and maintain inventory accuracy using RF scanning and basic Excel skills.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety protocols, accuracy in documentation, and a flexible approach to supporting warehouse operations. Prior forklift experience and certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months forklift operation experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment
• Must qualify and pass NFI forklift certification
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective customer service skills and basic math competencies

Responsibilities

• Operates all material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following established work practices and safety procedures
• Completes and documents required pre-operation inspection forms for equipment
• Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using forklift, clamp, or push‑pull equipment
• Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment in accordance with customer and operational requirements
• Verifies that the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped
• Performs order picking in an accurate, timely, and customer‑service‑focused manner
• Maintains required documentation and reports to support inventory accuracy and product security
• Assists with physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts as directed
• Uses RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management
