Located on:

Berens Drive New Lenox, IL

Shift:

Monday - Thursday, 5pm to 3:30am

Pay Rate:

$21.69 per hour

Shift Differential:

$1.50 additional per hour

General Summary

The Forklift Operator I is primarily responsible for safely operating basic powered material handling equipment (excluding the Order Picker, Turret, and Drexel) for product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This role ensures product safety, quality, and legality.

Responsibilities

• Full case order picking for replenishment, customer orders, and packaging components.
• Pallet retrieval and placement in narrow aisle bulk rack storage systems.
• Conducting quality control to ensure transaction accuracy.
• Loading and unloading pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, by hand or equipment.
• Sorting and building products on pallets to meet customer expectations.
• Using machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallets.
• Performing pre- and post-equipment checklists.
• Maintaining storage location accuracy through daily cycle counts and inventory tasks.
• Performing other distribution tasks as needed based on business volume.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate powered material handling equipment like electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Must meet PPE and fall protection requirements.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Customer service orientation.
• Team player.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements

Ability to follow policies and procedures, read and interpret information, perform basic math, and use hands for handling tasks. Must be able to sit, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Visual acuity required.
