Forklift Driver Job Description

In the Forklift Driver role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle to perform tasks related to storing, shipping, and receiving. This role supports the Warehouse Manager, Supervisor, and Production team.

  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Notify appropriate departments of any issues related to Warehouse, Shipping, Maintenance, Quality, etc.
  • Perform housekeeping duties at the work center or as directed by the Lead and/or Manager, e.g., sweeping work areas.
  • Load and unload trailers and containers.
  • Move, stack, and stage products (e.g., boxes, preforms, resin, trays).
  • Pick and pull orders, perform receivings and putaways.
  • Consolidate partial pallets, raw materials, or finished goods within the facility.
  • Verify Pack IDs.
  • Count products and materials.
  • Lock and unlock doors, open and close the yard gate.
  • Check the status of machines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Be able to perform all tasks and responsibilities of a Material Handler II.
  • Properly utilize the Ginder.
  • Manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify and address problems, and meet deadlines.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Communicate effectively, read, and write in English.
  • Work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Be committed to the success of the organization.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Wear Safety Footwear classified as ANSI Z41.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling.
  • Repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.
  • Work in a warehouse environment with temperature variations.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certified to operate sit-down, counterbalance, reach truck, and/or order picker.
  • At least 1 year of warehouse experience involving the use of various warehouse practices.
  • Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in the plastic bottle industry or manufacturing is a plus but not required.
