Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Granger, IN seeks a full-time Forklift Operator I to move material between inventory and production, keep accurate records, and support production schedules. You will load, wrap, label, and transport goods, while maintaining safety and housekeeping in the yard and warehouse.

The role requires at least 18 years old, basic math ability, and the ability to complete forklift licensing; prior forklift experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade basic education; high school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift driving experience is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Must successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process between stations as needed.
• Band, wrap, pack, and label finished goods.
• Move finished goods from production area to inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report issues.
• Maintain organized inventory yard for rough material and finished goods.
• Record production data and maintain required paperwork.
• Follow forklift rules and Company policy.
• Participate in safety, continuous improvement (CI) and other programs.
• Perform other duties as required.
