Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. in Wapak is seeking a Forklift Operator to ensure safe, efficient handling, storage and delivery of materials in the production environment.

You will perform daily inspections, prepare stock for machines, manage labeling and paperwork, and support the Shipping Lead as needed while upholding safety and quality standards. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid forklift license; preferred experience in corrugated manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret factory instructions and safety guidelines.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic calculations (percentages, measurements, volume).
• Familiarity with production specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain the forklift, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
• Complete daily forklift inspections before shift start and report maintenance needs.
• Prepare stock for delivery to machines and optimize workflow.
• Move finished goods from machines and store them properly with clear labeling.
• Maintain stock in designated areas following safety practices.
• Complete paperwork including inventory tracking and safety records.
• Update stock locations in physical and computer systems.
• Maximize equipment utilization according to the daily production schedule.
• Assist fellow forklift operators and back up Shipping Lead when needed.
• Prepare regular production and safety reports.
