Job summary

Pratt Industries in Ohio is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to safely operate and maintain forklifts, move materials, and support production goals. You will perform daily inspections, prepare stock for delivery, and ensure accurate labeling and storage in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires attention to safety, basic math, and the ability to read instructions. You will collaborate with team members, back up shipping tasks, and help maintain accurate records and clean workspaces.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Previous experience in the corrugated industry and/or as a forklift operator.
• Ability to read and interpret factory instructions and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain the forklift, ensuring compliance with all safety guidelines and operational procedures.
• Complete daily forklift inspections before shift start and when operating new equipment, submitting maintenance work orders for necessary repairs.
• Before shift start, ensure stock is located and prepared for delivery to machines, optimizing workflow and efficiency.
• Remove finished goods from machines, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
• Organize and maintain stock in designated storage areas, adhering to safety and best practices.
• Complete paperwork including inventory tracking, production data, and safety records.
• Maintain up-to-date stock locations in physical and computer systems for seamless operations.
• Maximize equipment utilization and ensure machinery runs at full capacity per schedule.
• Assist fellow forklift operators and act as backup for Shipping Lead.
• Prepare regular reports on production data, machine status, safety, and quality.
• Follow company policies and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
