Job summary

Amcor Fort Worth is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator responsible for safe and efficient loading, unloading, and moving raw materials within the plant and warehouse.

You will operate a sit-down forklift for up to 12 hours, use SAP to tag products, and support production by delivering materials on time while maintaining safety and quality standards. Flexibility to work any shift and adapt to a fast-paced environment is required, as is the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Forklift certification and prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 2 years forklift experience required; sit-down forklift preferred.
  • Ability to read and enter numbers accurately in online databases.
  • English reading/writing/speaking required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a sit-down forklift safely for loading, unloading, and moving raw materials.
  • Supply raw materials to production and remove finished goods with pallets.
  • Tag finished product in SAP and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Stack and store goods in the warehouse in an organized manner.
  • Work all shifts and overtime as required; adapt to changing production needs.

Position Overview

Responsible for the safe & quality operation and proficient understanding of loading, unloading, and moving raw materials within or near plant, and regrinds scrap product.



  • Abides by all Amcor’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures.

  • Operate a sit-down forklift in a safe, but proficient manner; must be able to do so for a 12-hour period.

  • Supply necessary raw materials to production as needed.

  • Remove finished goods from production area and put production tickets on pallets and store in proper place in warehouse.

  • Operate SAP Computer System in order to tag finished product and be knowledgeable of what material is needed.

  • Stack finished product in warehouse in a neat manner.

  • Must be flexible and able to work any shift.

  • Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment that can change instantly.

  • Must be able to work safely in a very tight production area and wear safety equipment, personal protective equipment, as required in the area or to perform specific job duties.

  • Must be willingly accept any other duties/changes to position to fit the needs for production as requested by Shift Supervisor.

  • Must be able to operate other types of equipment and machinery.

  • Knowledge of dock door/levelers/locks and dock operations.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED. Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., Technical or Vocational education)

  • Forklift certification and previous work experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

  • 2 years of forklift experience required; sit down forklift experience preferred.

  • Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enters this information into an on-line database accurately. A strong mathematical ability is essential.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual defects.

  • Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.

  • Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.

  • Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.
