Job summary

Amcor is seeking a warehouse associate to move, scan product, and operate powered industrial trucks in a safe manner at our Jackson, Tennessee facility. The role involves forklift and walkie rider operation, loading and unloading freight, picking orders, and maintaining FIFO while upholding safety, quality, and GMP standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift 35 lbs, and tolerance for heat and cold in a non-climate controlled warehouse; schedule is 7:00

Qualifications

  • Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.
  • Capable of working in a NON climate controlled warehouse where temps can exceed 102 degrees in summer & freezing temps in winter.
  • Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Capable of operating a forklift and a walkie rider in a safe and cautious manner to the satisfaction of the supervisor; six months of forklift driving experience required.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35lbs periodically.
  • Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including PPE requirements.
  • Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtime.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Negative drug screen results.
  • Work in a safe manner.
  • Previous experience in material handling or shipping/receiving preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to front line leadership.
  • Work as a team member to obtain plant & departmental goals.
  • Perform daily inspections on forklift.
  • Perform Trailer inspections prior to loading & unloading.
  • Wrap pallets with shrink wrap and scan pallets when required.
  • Load/unload incoming/outgoing freight as assigned.
  • Transport, store and retrieve product and materials using scanner for traceability.
  • Practice First In & First Out product movement.
  • Utilize bar coding equipment to identify and transfer product.
  • Cross-train in UPS order processing and off-load packages up to 35lbs.
  • Pick orders for shipment.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Maintain lot control traceability.
  • Control of non-conforming product.
  • Uphold Safety Absolutes and ISO/ SOP standards.
  • Uphold Quality Standards and follow Absolutes.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Job Description

The primary role of the warehouse person position is to move and scan product to specified locations while operating powered industrial trucks in a safe manner.

Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Report to front line leadership
  • Work as a team member to obtain plant & departmental goals
  • Perform daily inspections on forklift
  • Perform Trailer inspections prior to loading & unloading
  • Wrap pallets with shrink wrap machine and scan pallets when required
  • Load / unload incoming / outgoing freight as assigned
  • Safely transport, store and/or retrieve all product / raw materials / other to and from racks and designated locations using scanner for traceability.
  • Practice First In & First Out product movement
  • Utilize all bar coding equipment as instructed to identify and transfer product.
  • Become cross-trained in the processing of UPS orders as needed and physically off- loading packages up to 35lbs.
  • Pick orders for shipment
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed or assigned
  • Maintain lot control traceability
  • Control of non-conforming product
  • Uphold Safety Absolutes
  • Work and perform to ISO Standards, SOPs and established Work Instructions.

Additional Information
  • 7:00 am - 3:30pm M-F; Weekend as needed

  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.

  • Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.

  • Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.

  • Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.
  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.
  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.
