Job summary

Amcor is seeking a maintenance technician to observe, troubleshoot, repair, and service production machinery and equipment in a high-speed facility. You will dismantle and replace defective parts, procure materials, lubricate, and ensure safety and housekeeping in every shift.

The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, understanding hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and ability to work overtime. PPE is mandatory, and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

  • Observes production machinery and performs troubleshooting to locate and fix causes of trouble.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, sketches and equipment manuals; understand hydraulic/pneumatic controls.
  • Able to work all shifts and overtime; wear PPE and follow safety policies.

Observes production machinery and mechanical equipment in operation and troubleshoots to locate causes of trouble and repairs them. Strong level of troubleshooting ability. Dismantles machinery and mechanical equipment to remove defective parts; repairs or replaces the defective parts, using hand tools and power tools. Determines and orders appropriate materials and parts needed for service/repair of equipment and facility. Lubricates and cleans machinery and mechanical equipment. Wears all required personal protective equipment. Assures and participates in all plant safety/accident prevention policies. This includes maintaining a safe work environment and follows safe work practices. Maintains housekeeping of work areas. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor. Train current and new members of the department to perform job related tasks as needed. Learn new on the job skills as training opportunities become available.

Preferred Requirements


  • Able to stand/walk on concrete floor in a high speed production facility.

  • Able to climb stairs/ladders up to 15 feet high.

  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds.



General Requirements


  • Injection: Experience with Husky Injection machines preferred; others acceptable.

  • Blow Mold: Experience with Sidel and/or Krones machines preferred. Experience with Packaging equipment/machinery, high speed bulk palletizers, strappers and wrappers.



Must be able to read/understand blueprints, drawings, sketches, layouts, and equipment manuals. Must have working knowledge of the functioning of hydraulic and pneumatic controls and be able to troubleshoot them with the aid of a schematic. Must have thorough knowledge of shop mathematics and the use of measuring equipment, IE calipers, and micrometers. Able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Able to work all shifts and required overtime.



Must wear safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat or bump cap, gloves, steel toed shoes and hair/beard covering.
