Job summary

Amcor in Kentucky seeks a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to enforce quality standards across injection molding, secondary processes, and print lines. This role involves collecting samples, recording test results, and escalating non-conformances to maintain product integrity.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and proficiency with measuring devices like height gauges and calipers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment; plastic manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Technical background and/or experience in Quality Assurance highly preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand or walk for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Good computer skills required.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring devices, such as height gages and calipers.
  • Good mathematics skills required.
  • Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Notify the Shift Supervisor of non-conformances and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Identify non-conforming product and update the hold log.

Job description

  • Work in a professional manner with other associates to ensure only quality product being released to the customer.

  • Perform Dock Audits as required.

  • Collect samples from each injection molding machine, secondary process, and print line for the required attribute / dimensional / functional testing per the specified frequency. Record the results on the appropriate forms.

  • Notify the Shift Supervisor of any non-conformances that are found. Monitor active concerns for prompt resolution and elevate issue up the Management chain if the non-conformance is not being addressed.

  • Notify Quality Assurance Manager of any quality defects which are not corrected promptly.

  • Identify non-conforming product with “Hold” labels and update the hold log.

  • Update X Bar R charts as required.

  • Perform in-process attribute verifications and document checks. Record the results on the Quality Monitor.

  • Perform first shot verifications and document the results using the appropriate forms.

  • Assist as necessary with LDR verifications.

  • Notify the Quality Assurance Manager immediately of any Quality Department equipment deficiencies.

  • Maintain a safe working environment.

  • Responsible for ensuring quality and housekeeping standards are maintained.

  • Ensure a smooth transition between shifts by communicating any ongoing concerns / lingering issues to incoming technician.

  • Various other duties as assigned.
