Job summary

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a dependable forklift operator to move materials within our Wisconsin facility. You will load, unload, and transport goods, perform daily forklift checks, and assist with inventory using RF scanning and manual records.

Responsibilities include following production schedules, maintaining a clean, safe work area, and adhering to OSHA safety standards. A high school diploma, forklift certification, and a clean driving record are required; training is provided as

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.
• High degree of attention to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
• Maintain a clean & safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods from vehicles.
• Move goods on pallets or slip sheets within the storage facility.
• Stack goods in correct storage bays following inventory instructions.
• Check loads are secure and inspect for safety.
• Stack empty pallets and perform daily equipment checks on forklifts.
• Remove attachments and waste material from machines and ensure quality conformance.

Job description

Position Overview

Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

Responsibilities

• Obtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.
• Provide raw or WHIP stock to production machines per the production schedule.
• Loading and unloading goods from vehicles.
• Moving goods packed on pallets or slip sheets around the storage facility.
• Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
• Checking loads are secure.
• Stacking empty pallets.
• Performing daily equipment checks on the Forklifts, per OSHA guidelines.
• Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines.
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Dumping materials into machine hoppers.
• Any other job duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.
• Maintain a clean & safe environment.
• May be required to use an RF scanner gun.
• Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
• Class A license preferred, but not required.
