Job summary

Crown Bakeries is hiring a Forklift Operator in Smyrna, GA to unload trailers, move pallets, and load goods according to load sheets while following GMP standards and keeping docks clean and organized.

You will rotate stock (FIFO), report equipment or safety issues promptly, assist with sanitation, and document product dates. Sit-down forklift experience is preferred; lifting up to 50 lbs may be required in this fast-paced plant.

Qualifications

• Must have sit-down forklift experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required in a loud industrial setting.
• Knowledge of GMPs and safety procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unloads trailers as they arrive and records product on load sheets.
• Keeps docks clean and organizes pallets and trays.
• Loads trucks according to load sheets and checks pallet counts.
• Rotates stock using FIFO and reports any equipment issues immediately.
• Performs sanitation duties and assists with general housekeeping.
• Documents product dates and maintains accurate records.

Job SummaryUnder supervision and using established procedures, The Forklift Operator ensures that trucks are loaded, trays and dollies are unloaded properly. Follow all GMP's and ensure hands are cleaned and always sanitized. Ensures the production of safe, high-quality products. Promotes good company morale. Report any equipment and/or people issues. Ensures all checklists and required forms are filled in correctly in a timely manner. Complete all tasks deemed necessary by supervisors. Crown Bakeries' Vision, Mission and Values should be carried out while performing these essential functionsResponsibilities:Unloads trailers as they arrive.Keep docks clean, removing any empty trays and pallets.Offloads any ingredients or other material that may be delivered.Checks and records ingredients received on the proper form.Sweeps out and loads trucks according to load sheets, checking off stacks and/or pallets as they are loaded.Writes down on the load sheet the dates of the product that goes on the trailer.After the load is complete, check that the pallets on the trailer correspond to the number on the load sheet.Turns in load sheets, B.O.L., and in other forms completed during shift.Throws away all empty boxes and bags.Places all product varieties in the proper aisles and records quantity on "push in sheet".Keeps freezer organized and pushed up.Ensures proper rotation of product (first-in/first-out).Keeps ante rooms clean and the back of the freezer swept, scraped and free of any debris.Notifies engineering/maintenance of any equipment problems immediately.Monitors quality of the product, package seal, trays, dollies, and coding.Checks for proper nesting of trays.Performs M.B. and GSF pull and push up.Always keep entire work area clean.Perform Sanitation duties as needed and assigned by Supervisor.Performs any other job deemed necessary by Supervisor.Hauls and moves trailers on and off property using trucks and yard dogs.Food Safety Responsibilities:Follow all GMP's, Food Defense and quality policies.Ensures compliance with all GMP, food hygiene and safety standards.Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen or magnet deviancies', glass breakage, and pest harborage.Qualifications:Knowledge of baking processes, equipment and terminology is desired.Completion of high school and/or GED equivalent or experience in job related activities required.The ability to process large volumes of repetitive work to meet established deadlines is required.The ability to lift heavy materials weighing up to fifty (50) pounds may be required.Must have sit down forklift experience.Physical Demands:Work in a noisy environment for length of shift.Reach above shoulder height.Able to bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of shift.Position is in an industrial setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions, as well as Good Manufacturing Processes compliance.Will be pushing and pulling stacks of products that may weigh as much as 50 lbs.May lift materials weighing up to fifty (50) pounds on a recurring basis.EEO Statement:Crown Bakeries is an equal opportunity employer.
