Job summary

Tyson Foods in Amherst, OH is hiring for a 2nd shift forklift/warehouse associate. Starting pay is $23.25 per hour with a $1 shift premium for 2nd shift. The role requires basic forklift experience and the ability to operate in a cold freezer environment.

Relocation assistance is not listed, and overtime may be available. Primary duties include unloading/loads, moving stock to pallets, and maintaining accurate inventories.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months forklift experience.
• Able to follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Physical ability to perform demanding warehouse tasks.

Responsibilities

• Unload/Load materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Transport raw materials to production workstations.
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs through accurate paperwork and/or electronic scanning.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment while driving within the facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Safely operate stand-up forklifts and reach trucks in a fast-paced freezer environment.
• Responsible for transporting, staging, and storing products while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.

Starting pay: $23.25/HR (with a $1/HR shift premium for 2nd Shift). Prior Tyson Workers: This location is currently not accepting rehire candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods.

• Unload/Load materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.

Requirements

6-month forklift experience listed on the application (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).

Physical Requirements

• The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Must be willing and able to wear required PPE to work in an extremely cold environment (below -10 degrees F).
• Must be willing and able to work for extended periods in cold environment (30F – 40F)
• Must be willing and able to walk and reach with hands and arms 100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel 100% of the time.
• Must be willing and able to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch; or crawl 25% of the time up to 10 hours per day.
• Must be willing and able to sit 75-100% of the time for up to 8 - 10 hours per day.
• Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds and/or move up to 300 pounds (with assistance) 100% of the time.
