Job summary

C&F Enterprises is seeking a Forklift Operator in Newport News, VA to safely move, stack, and count merchandise while maintaining strong internal relationships. You will operate a forklift, pallet jack, or handcart, and support efficient warehouse processes with accuracy and attention to safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift certification, and 1–2 years of experience. WMS proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

Job Purpose:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise; accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform product handler duties; promote and implement the company’s core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or handcart.
• Use radio equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.
• Maintain the company’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.
• Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

Physical Requirements

• Carrying, pushing, pulling boxes and items; up to 75-100 lbs., at times.
