Job summary

C & F Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise safely and efficiently in its warehouse. You will promote the company’s core values and maintain strong internal customer relationships.

The role requires forklift certification and 1-2 years of experience, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and safety in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time on-site position offering team collaboration and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and/or equivalent experience.
• Computer skills desired for operating warehouse management system (WMS).
• 1-2 years of forklift experience, preferred.
• Possess a current and valid forklift certification.
• Must have the ability to meet warehouse deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or handcart.
• Use radio equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.
• Maintain the company’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.
• Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

Job Purpose

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise; accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform product handler duties; promote and implement the company’s core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal customers.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, Standing, Walking
• Heavy lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
• Exposure to varied temperatures within warehouse environment
• Work inside and outside; work around machinery with moving parts and vehicles
• Carrying, pushing, pulling boxes and items; up to 75-100 lbs., at times.

The successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
