Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and adaptable professional to serve as a Class A Diesel Mechanic, responsible for maintaining and ensuring the operational readiness of our fleet. This hybrid role supports Class A vehicle service at our warehouse location in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical skills

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

Weather & Emergency Preparedness:

• Assist with emergency planning for weather related emergencies
• Inventory and maintain all maintenance tools and equipment
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness of all tools.
• Serve as project lead or foreman for on-site vendor repairs or installations.

Mechanic Duties:

Required Qualifications:

Technical Experience:

• Strong working knowledge of commercial facility maintenance.
• Proven experience in diesel truck maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.

Certifications & Education:

• Class A Diesel Mechanic Certification or equivalent experience (required).
• High School Diploma or GED (required), technical or trade school (preferred).
• ASE, OEM training certifications are a plus.

Skills & Physical Requirements:

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand/power tools, and shop equipment.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in physically demanding environments related to the position.
• Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions and during off-hours as needed.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to prioritize tasks independently.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and local safety compliance standards.
• Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking repairs.
