Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is hiring a Gripper operator at the Kemps Cedarburg plant. The role involves operating grippers to move milk crates, transporting product around the warehouse, and following computer-directed instructions. Safety and accuracy are essential.

The position offers a 2nd shift with 4pm starts, 10–12 hour shifts, and potential Sunday work. Starting pay is $27.71 per hour, increasing to $30.75 after one year, plus generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings (drug, background, criminal checks).
• Stand, walk, pull, push, reach and bend for long shifts.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stack/move cases up to 6–8 high.
• Work in a wet environment with temps 35–40°F.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Able to read, write and speak English.

Job description

Our Kemps Cedarburg plant has an immediate opening for a fast paced and motivated Gripper operator in our cooler. Grippers function similarly to forklifts in terms of operator positioning and controls, but instead of forks, they have pads on the sides to "grip" stacks of milk crates. We are seeking someone who can safely transport milk to various areas of our warehouse, following directions from the computer mounted on the equipment. This position requires precision, equipment handling skills, and a strong focus on safety.

OUR OPERATORS FOR THIS POSITION

Earn: $27.71 to start, $30.75 after 1 year.

SCHEDULE

2nd Shift - 4pm start, 10-12 hour shifts, rotating schedule, Monday-Saturday shifts, some Sunday work may be required

• Effective verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
• Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach and bend virtually the entire shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is necessary and manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases high
• Must be able to work in a wet environment and work in an environment where temperature is maintained at 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays
• May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
