Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC is launching a state-of-the-art logistics facility in Gastonia, NC, and is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join the team. You will load and unload trailers, read load sheets, and ensure product is rotated properly while maximizing trailer cube.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. You will participate in food safety programs, maintain inventory integrity, and help support fast, accurate distribution for our snack-food brands.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklift equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret load sheets.
• Basic math and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Loads trailers with finished product for distribution centers and others.
• Reads load sheets to determine quantity of product to load.
• Unloads inbound trailers and places items into inventory.
• Operates forklift during loading and unloading.
• Operates stand up forklift as needed.
• Maintains organization of product rows and inventory.
• Stacks pallets and places them on conveyors or trailers.
• Uses scanners to load/unload and ensure accuracy.
• Supports food safety tasks and quality standards.

Job description

At Utz Quality Foods, we’re launching a brand-new, state-of-the-art logistics facility in Gastonia, NC, and we’re looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. This hands-on role will involve receiving shipping manifest and pulls product in proper rotation order while maximizing cube of trailer.

Schedule:Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Loads trailers with finished product for distribution centers, bins and distributors.
• Reads load sheets to determine quantity of each product that needs loaded to destinations.
• Unloads inbound trailers with purchased products and puts into inventory.
• Operates forklift when loading and unloading.
• Operates stand up fork lift when loading and unloading.
• Maintains integrity of rows and stands of product when pulling or adding to inventory.
• Stacks empty pallets and places on conveyor or in a trailer.
• Loads and unloads conveyor as required per warehouse and operates scanning devices.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.

Requirements:

• Works with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed.
• Reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action
• Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives.
• Requires basic math and reading skills.
• Knowledge of types and locations of products and truck loading procedures acquired through on the job training.
• Required to wear non-slip shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment
