Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate powered material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count product.
• Load, unload, move stock, and stage products using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment (80% of the shift).
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring exact numbers and types loaded.
• Check inbound/outbound products for damage; record codes and match customer requirements.
• Maintain records for inventory accuracy and report variances as necessary.

Our client is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team.The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, a focus on accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Portage, IN

Pay Range: $20.55

What's the Job?

• Operate powered material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count product.


• Load, unload, move stock, and stage products and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment (80% of the specified shift).


• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of product are loaded.


• Check all inbound and outbound products to ensure they are free of damage and infestation; record product code dates properly and confirm products match customer requirements.


• Maintain accurate records and reports for inventory accuracy, verify load accuracy and stability, and report variances as necessary.

What's Needed?

• Forklift operator certificate or successful completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment.


• Ability to spend 80% of time operating powered material handling equipment.


• Basic familiarity with warehousing processes and expectations.


• Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, understand, and follow directions and instructions.


• Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules while working the specified shift.
