Job description

Job Summary

This position requires operating a forklift in a rugged 50+ acre outdoor environment, both paved and unpaved. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility that includes covered and uncovered areas.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate stretch wrap machines, film roll up-enders, and extended boom arm forklift equipment
• Organize products on the yard according to inventory procedures
• Safely load and unload products from flatbeds and box trailers
• Validate packing slips, ship tickets, and other delivery documentation by auditing, recording, and interpreting shipping documentation, weights, measures, labels, and production schedules
• Perform other duties related to the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience operating a 5,000 lb forklift in an outdoor yard environment
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent
• Ability to perform routine inspection, fueling, and preventive maintenance duties (lubrication, cleaning, battery change)
• Ability to read and write in English
• Strong math, communication, and comprehension skills to coordinate with transportation, dispatch, and trailer hitch operations
• Successful completion of internal Forklift Certification Training and adherence to safety procedures
• Ability to work in dusty, hot, or cold conditions and in extreme weather
• Regularly speak or hear; sit for extended periods; stand frequently
• Ability to lift/move up to 65 lbs., with team lifting or equipment use for heavier loads
• Capable of physical activities involving arms, legs, and the whole body, including bending, crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching
