Job summary

Ridge Corporation is hiring a Material Handler in Frazeysburg, OH to keep materials moving through our manufacturing plant. You’ll place materials, stage for production, and move finished goods to storage or shipment, working with production, purchasing, shipping, and receiving teams.

This hands-on, hourly role requires standing most of the shift, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining safety and 5S standards. We offer benefits after 30 days and wage increase opportunities.

Job description

Position Title: Material Handler

Location: Frazeysburg, OH

Pay: Up to $19.25/hour to start; 2nd shift earns a 10% shift differential (up to $21.17/hour), plus quarterly wage rate increase opportunities

Schedule:
1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; occasional Friday overtime, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:15 PM–2:45 AM; occasional Friday overtime, 2:15 PM–10:45 PM

Two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch per shift

Position Summary:

Ridge Corporation is hiring a Material Handler to keep materials moving through our manufacturing plant. If you have warehouse or material handling experience and like staying busy in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.

You’ll handle everything coming into and going out of the plant: putting materials in their proper locations, gathering and staging material for production lines, and moving finished goods to storage or loading them for shipment. You’ll work directly with production, purchasing, shipping, and receiving teammates.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of material handling equipment, including 1,200 lb. sit-down mobile equipment with 6 ft. forks
• Unload, load, and stage purchased and manufactured product receipts
• Stock incoming product using Radio Frequency (RF) scanners and material handling equipment
• Replenish machine centers to keep production lines supplied
• Load and unload material from pallet racking
• Process and validate product receipts with RF equipment to keep inventory accurate
• Conduct cycle counts, physical inventories, and receiving inspections
• Follow company safety and department policies and procedures at all times
• Keep your work area clean and organized using 5S methods
• Suggest ways to improve our processes
• Take on other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• At least 2 months of job-related experience, including operating material handling equipment
• Experience in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Forklift certification (can be earned on the job within 90 days of hire)
• Knowledge of company safety rules, OSHA, and department procedures
• Ability to read and understand basic English and do basic math
• Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
• A self-motivated approach to the work

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior manufacturing experience
• Warehouse management system (WMS) experience, including RF functions
• Crane experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This is a hands-on manufacturing role on your feet for most of the shift.

• Stand for long periods
• Use power tools safely
