Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also perform order filling or checking duties. This role involves operating sit-down and/or clamp forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Stack and store merchandise using forklift, clamp, push-pull equipment
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage
• Prepare products for shipment and ensure correct loading
• Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer standards
• Move products to trailers from staging or storage areas
• Operate equipment safely and follow prescribed methods
• Maintain records for inventory control and security
• Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts
• Ensure proper stock rotation
• Use Excel and general computer skills
• Understand basic safety procedures in operating equipment
• Report safety concerns promptly
• Report inventory discrepancies and assist in resolution
• Complete inspection forms before operating equipment
• Use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• At least 3 months forklift or warehouse equipment experience
• Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours
• Lift/pull up to 50 lbs
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, reaching
• Ability to work in variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions
• Availability for irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays
• Must obtain NFI forklift certification
• Attention to detail, customer service, and basic math skills
