Job summary

PAM Transport Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator in Laredo, TX to safely operate a forklift and move materials within a warehouse. The role supports loading, unloading, and securing freight on trailers, while adhering to safety procedures and reporting issues to the supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, the ability to read labels and basic math skills, and 50 lb lifting capability. Forklift certification is preferred.

Primary role of a forklift operator is to safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move materials, goods, and products within a warehouse.**Pay and Schedule**This position is:Monday - Friday 12pm to 9pmPay range is $16 to $19/hour.**Benefits Offered*** Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans* Volunteer Benefits* 401K* PTO* Paid Weekly/Direct Deposit**How will you contribute to the success of the team?*** Reporting to supervisor regarding any damage to freight, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards* Comparing data on freight bills with recorded weight and further production information on labels and tags* Organizing and securing loading materials such as corrugate boxes, customer products, machinery, pallets, etc. onto trailers* Occasionally loading or unloading materials/product off and/or on to pallets, racking, skids, or lifting devices* Operate industrial trucks equipped to move trailers around warehouse and yard.* Moving trailers in/out of the dock to load/unload freight* Completing trailer inspections to ensure free from foreign objects, insects, and holes in trailer/trailer floor.* Filling out the required paperwork to ensure proper loading/unloading of customer freight.* Are responsible to throw away any trash accumulated in the transloading processes.* This includes plastic wrap, plastic/ steel strapping, extra carton used for securing loads.* Once a week, forklift operators are designated an area of the warehouse to sweep up accumulated dirt and or pick up any trash accumulated inside the building.**What makes you a strong candidate for this position?** v* High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience* Ability to read labels, numbers.* Ability to operate in moderate speed and fast-paced environment.* Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.* Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply)* Excellent teamwork skills and ability to follow instructions.* Forklift Certification preferred.*The company will provide reasonable accommodations to employees who require them to perform the essential functions of their job to the extent it does not impose an undue hardship or create a risk of harm to the employee or others.*PAM Transport is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
