The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties.*This job description reflects the current assignment of essential functions and is not meant to be all-inclusive. Duties and responsibilities may be assigned or reassigned to this job at any time and may be modified to reasonably accommodate an individual with a disability or for other reasons.*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:*** Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.* Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly.* Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items.* Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads and for other duties as needed.* Removes strapping and wrapping for delivered materials then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas.* Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisor.* Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas.* Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to warehouse leader or supervisor.* Performs other related duties as requested.* Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.* Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.* Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:*** High school diploma or GED. (preferred but not required)* Satisfactorily pass forklift and stand-up forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.* Forklift certification (preferred but not required)* Minimum 1 year experience as a forklift operator.**LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:** A forklift operator certification is not required but is preferred.
