Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and may also perform order filling or checking duties. This position involves operating sit-down and/or clamp forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Stack and store merchandise using forklifts, clamp, push-pull equipment
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage
• Pull and prepare products for shipment
• Ensure correct quantity and type of products are loaded and shipped
• Perform picking duties efficiently, meeting customer service standards
• Move products from staging or storage into trailers
• Operate equipment safely following prescribed methods
• Maintain records for inventory control and security
• Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts
• Ensure proper stock rotation
• Have knowledge of Excel and general computer skills
• Understand basic safety procedures in operating equipment
• Report safety concerns promptly
• Report inventory discrepancies and assist in resolution
• Complete inspection forms before operating equipment
• Use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• At least 3 months of forklift or warehouse equipment experience
• Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours
• Ability to lift or pull 50 lbs
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching
• Ability to work in environments with variable noise, lighting, and temperature
• Availability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to obtain NFI forklift certification
• Attention to detail, customer service skills, and basic math skills
