Job description

Responsible for the operation of a forklift or other heavy equipment to safely move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise around the facility.

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to drive a forklift
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to climb on and off of required equipment
• Ability to sit for long periods
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide
• Ability to read and write English and follow instructions
• Ability to work in dusty, hot, cold, or rainy environments
• Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays

Requirements:

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform safety checks on the forklift before operation, including fluid level checks (oil, water, fuel)
• Ensure availability of empty pallets for packaging lines and inform supervisor of inventory
• Remove palletized bags from production lines and operate the stretch-wrapper, changing stretch film as needed
• Place palletized bags in inventory, ensuring proper storage without damage
• Participate in plant cleanliness by restacking, trash removal, and equipment washing
• Read Bills of Lading (BOLs) and load trucks with correct quantities and SKUs safely and efficiently; communicate any BOL changes to dispatch or office personnel
• Conduct physical inventory counts of finished goods as required
• Meet quality and quantity standards
