Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to manage the movement of materials and keep the facility clean, organized, and safe. You will perform daily maintenance checks, load and unload trailers, and support production in a fast-paced environment.

Starting rate is $19 per hour with opportunities for advancement. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, forklift experience, basic maintenance skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Legal eligibility to work in the US and 18+.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily maintenance checks before operation to ensure safe forklift use.
• Notify technician in advance when maintenance is needed.
• Operate forklifts in a fast-paced environment and keep the facility clean and safe.
• Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
• Keep warehouse organized and materials properly stored.
• Follow all safety regulations and participate in training and development.

Job description

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator operates and manages movement of materials to ensure a clean, organized facility, respects forklift safety criteria and fulfills production needs.

Starting rate $19 per hour with opportunities for advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Completes daily maintenance checks of the assigned unit before operation to ensure safe operation of the equipment and that no repairs are needed.
• Notifies technician in advance when aware that equipment will need maintenance.

• Operates forklift while in a fast-paced environment and maintains a clean and safe facility.
• Loads and unloads trailers in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensures that the warehouse is kept clean, orderly and all materials are properly stored.
• Operates forklifts/pallet jack following all company safety regulations.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, forklift experience and basic operator level maintenance experience, be legally eligible to work in the US , and be 18 years of age or older. It is required to have a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.

Excellent listening, communication and problem solving skills, a dedication to safety, proven commitment to work and a self-directed attitude are expected.
