Position Summary

The individual will be responsible for safe handling of small to large components and materials (sheet metal, structure) using a forklift. They will also load, unload, transport and store goods using a forklift, overhead crane, pallet truck or hand truck.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Safely carry out and transport components and materials to the required departments using a forklift (6,500 lb propane), an overhead crane, a pallet jack, or a hand truck.
  • Inspect components & materials received using the plans, BOM, MOC, receipt slip and other relevant documents.
  • Identify the components & materials received.
  • Keep the reception area safe and clean (cutting and dismantling wooden pallets, preparation for recycling, etc.).
  • Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift and handle equipment and materials.
  • Bundle, wrap or band material for shipment.
  • Communicate with supply and quality regarding any non‑compliant delivery and participate in the development of the non‑compliance report (quarantine area).
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Participate in inventory/material counts.
  • Participate when required in the loading of units.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Computer Skills: ERP system and Microsoft Office experience (an asset).
  • Certificates & Licenses: Forklift license required and overhead crane license (an asset).
  • Strong sense of time, organization, and urgency.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Perform work with precision and thoroughness.
  • Work at a steady pace and produce quality work.
  • Find and proactively deal with work‑related issues.
  • Versatile, autonomous, and responsible.
  • Continuously develop knowledge and skills.
  • Share expertise with others.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both oral and written.
