Job summary

BD is a leading medical technology company seeking a Forklift Operator to safely move products within the distribution center. You will unload, put away, pick pallets, and replenish stock using material handling equipment.

Responsibilities include operating high reach/counterbalance forklifts, using RF scanners and WMS for inventory control, and adhering to safety procedures. Cross-training and backup support are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year of relevant distribution experience is required in lieu of diploma.
  • Intermediate experience with high-reach or counterbalance forklifts is required.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMS is preferred.

Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate movement of products within the distributioncenter.

  • Cross train and become knowledgeable in other areas. Provide backup support when required.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

  • 1 year of relevant experience, required in lieu of High School Diploma or GED.

  • Intermediate experience with either a high reach or counterbalance required.

  • Experience with Manhattan WMS, preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification within 2 days of employment.

  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents in English.

  • Ability to operate MHE and use an RF scanner.

  • Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.

  • General distribution knowledge.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Strong initiative and drive for results.

The associate may occasionally berequired to climb. The job may require lifting over 50lbs in some areas but not all. Associate must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate MHE [Material Handling Equipment] in a manufacturing/distribution environment.

Work Environment: (if applicable)
The noise level is moderate to loud. There will almost always be exposure to work near moving
mechanical equipment, exposure to precarious situations. Occasionally the position will have exposure tofumes/airborne particles. This role may require a mandatory medical evaluation in compliance with BD’s obligations under applicable occupational health and safety laws.
