Job summary

Carpenter Co. is hiring a Forklift Operator for the 1st shift at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. The role focuses on safely unloading/loading trucks, performing final quality checks, and loading trailers per customer specifications.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Must be forklift certified.

Responsibilities

  • Unload/load trucks safely and efficiently and perform final quality check on finished product.
  • Load trailers in proper sequence and record transactions in inventory control system.
  • Lockout trailers before loading and unlock after loading; verify trucks loaded correctly.
  • Move stock in loading area and run manifest and bills of lading.
  • Handle bedding goods up to 75 lbs; read a tape measure and interpret measurements.

Job description

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1 st Shift Forklift Operator at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. This position will be responsible safely and efficiently unload/load trucks and perform final quality check on finished product and load on trailer per customer.

Additional responsibilities of the Forklift Operator will include:

  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Load trucks in proper sequence.
  • Check loading tickets.
  • Lockout trailers before loading and unlock once loading is complete.
  • Use forklift to load trailers as needed.
  • Record and track information in inventory control system.
  • Verify trucks have been loaded properly.
  • Move stock in loading area as necessary.
  • Run manifest and bills of lading.
  • Handle finished bedding goods up to 75 lbs
  • Lock out and chock wheels.
  • Use computers to scan rolls.
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.

Skills / Requirements

  • Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED.
  • On the job training is provided. Prior experience driving a fork lift.
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
  • Must have have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must be forklift certified.
