Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Forklift Operator at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant.

The role requires safe and efficient unloading/loading of trucks and performing final quality checks on finished products before they are loaded onto trailers. Responsibilities include using a forklift to load trailers in the correct sequence, recording information in the inventory control system, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures such as lockout/tagout.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required; on-the-job training provided.
• Prior forklift experience preferred; certification required.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills; ability to use computerized equipment daily.

Responsibilities

• Unload/load trucks safely and efficiently.
• Perform final quality checks on finished products before loading.
• Load trailers in proper sequence and verify loading tickets.
• Lockout trailers before loading and unlock after loading is complete.
• Record and track information in the inventory control system.
• Move stock in loading area and verify trucks are loaded correctly.
• Run manifests and bills of lading; handle goods up to 75 lbs.
• Scan rolls using computers and read a tape measure.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1 st Shift Forklift Operator at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. This position will be responsible safely and efficiently unload/load trucks and perform final quality check on finished product and load on trailer per customer.

Additional responsibilities of the Forklift Operator will include:

• Must be forklift certified.
• Load trucks in proper sequence.
• Check loading tickets.
• Lockout trailers before loading and unlock once loading is complete.
• Use forklift to load trailers as needed.
• Record and track information in inventory control system.
• Verify trucks have been loaded properly.
• Move stock in loading area as necessary.
• Run manifest and bills of lading.
• Handle finished bedding goods up to 75 lbs
• Lock out and chock wheels.
• Use computers to scan rolls.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.

Skills / Requirements

• Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED.
• On the job training is provided. Prior experience driving a fork lift.
• Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
• Must have have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Must be forklift certified.
