Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Forklift Operator for a contract position in Covington, KY. The role involves safely moving, loading, unloading, and organizing freight within a modern facility, with a focus on accurate labeling and documentation of shipments.

You will operate material handling equipment, maintain inventory accuracy, and keep the dock area clean and safe. The role supports efficient freight flow and requires attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to operate a forklift safely.
• Experience with material handling in a warehouse or dock setting.
• Ability to perform basic inventory-related tasks, including counting and organizing freight.
• Capability to read, decode, and interpret freight labels and coding accurately.

• Label freight accurately, including weighing and dimensionalizing shipments as required.
• Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable reports and follow established procedures.
• Perform regular cleanup activities in the work area to maintain a safe, organized, and clean dock environment.

This role supports efficient freight flow by operating material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping the dock area clean and safe.

Responsibilities

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Forklift Operator.
• Experience as an Equipment Operator in a warehouse, distribution, or dock setting.
• Experience with material count and basic inventory control processes.
• Familiarity with modern warehouse operations and freight handling procedures.

This role is based in a clean, modern facility with an active dock and warehouse setting where forklifts and other material handling equipment are regularly used to move freight. Multiple shift options are available, including Sun–Wed and Wed–Sat schedules with 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., 3rd shift from 5:00 p.m. to 5 a.m. Must be okay working 12 hour shifts. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with clear processes for freight handling, documentation, and housekeeping.

This is a Contract position based out of Covington, KY 41015.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
