Job summary

CMC is seeking a hands-on team player to support our manufacturing and recycling operations in Columbia, SC. You will keep work areas clean, operate production equipment, and actively participate in safety programs while adapting to a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in recycling or manufacturing, with forklift or loader experience and a HS diploma or equivalent. Training and advancement opportunities are available within a Fortune 500 company.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in recycling or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Prior forklift/skid steer/loader experience is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; further training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain work area and equipment in clean, orderly condition and follow safety regulations.
  • Operate production equipment per procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold the CMC Safety Culture.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

What You'll Do
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
  • Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
What You'll Need
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Minimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous experience operating forklift, skid steer, loader or similar equipment
  • Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
