Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also perform order filler or checker duties. This role involves operating sit-down and/or clamp forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Stack and store merchandise using forklift, clamp, push-pull equipment
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage
• Pull and prepare products for shipment
• Ensure correct products are loaded and shipped
• Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer standards
• Move products from staging/storage into trailers
• Operate equipment safely and following work methods
• Maintain records for inventory control and security
• Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts
• Ensure proper stock rotation
• Use Excel and general computer skills
• Understand basic safety procedures for equipment operation
• Report safety concerns promptly
• Report inventory discrepancies and assist in resolution
• Complete inspection forms before operating equipment
• Use RF scanning equipment for inventory accuracy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• At least 3 months forklift or warehouse equipment experience
• Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours
• Lift/pull up to 50 lbs
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, reaching
• Ability to work in noisy, variable lighting, temperature environments
• Availability for irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays
• Must obtain NFI forklift certification
• Attention to detail, customer service, basic math skills
