Job summary

Oldcastle APG, part of CRH, is seeking an Equipment and Machine Operator in North Carolina to operate a 6,000 lb forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The role includes yard organization, loading and unloading on flatbeds, and ensuring accurate shipping documentation.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, English literacy, and the ability to pass forklift certification. Competitive pay and benefits are offered in a full-time position at our Aberdeen facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift equipment including stretch wrap machines and extended boom arm forklift equipment.

• Safely load product onto and unload product from flatbeds and box trailers.
• Validate packing slips, ship tickets, and other delivery documentation by auditing, recording and interpreting shipping documentation, weights & measures, labels and production schedules.

Job Summary

This position requires operating a forklift indoor and outdoor, paved and unpaved environment. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, covered and uncovered manufacturing facility.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate stretch wrap machines, film roll up-enders, and extended boom arm forklift equipment
• Organize product in the yard according to inventory procedures
• Safely load product onto and unload product from flatbeds and box trailers
• Validate packing slips, ship tickets, and other delivery documentation by auditing, recording and interpreting shipping documentation, weights & measures, labels and production schedules

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience operating 6,000 lb forklift in an outdoor yard environment
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training,and experience
• Strict adherence to Oldcastle’s PPE policy and respect of laws and regulations concerning EHS
• Respect company polices, procedures as well as laws and regulations at all times
• Ability to perform routine inspection, fueling & preventive maintenance duties (lubrication, cleaning, battery change)
• Ability to read and write in English
• Math, communication, and comprehension skills to interface with transportation, dispatch, & direct trailer hitch operations
• Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures
• Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions

Compensation

Compensation for this role is $18-$21/hr.
