Job summary

Saia Inc. is seeking a Forklift Mechanic to support maintenance, repairs and inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild propane and diesel forklift engines while diagnosing failures and maintaining all related systems. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of forklift mechanic experience, and the ability to work with diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of forklift mechanic experience.
• Proficiency in diagnostic software.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds propane and diesel forklift engines.
• Diagnoses failures and maintains all systems and parts of forklifts.
• Uses hydraulic jacks to access undersides for maintenance and repairs.
• Conducts regular inspections of forklifts to identify issues.
• Performs routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter/battery care.
• Monitors and manages parts inventory for maintenance and repairs.
