Job summary

NEPW Logistics, Inc. is seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on our forklift fleet across multiple sites. You will inspect trucks, identify issues, and remove unsafe equipment.

You will service electric, gas-, and propane-powered forklifts, test repairs, schedule routine maintenance, maintain logs, and ensure batteries are charged. Valid driver's license and your own basic tool set are required.

Qualifications

• Will train if some experience or knowledge.
• Ability to use hand and power tools to repair forklift trucks.
• Ability to read repair manuals for various types of forklift trucks.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
• Technical degree or previous experience preferred.
• Have your own basic tool set.

Responsibilities

• Travel to different locations throughout Maine as needed.
• Inspect forklift truck fleet to ensure trucks are working properly and safely.
• Identify any forklift trucks that need repairs.
• Remove unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notifies supervisor.
• Repair and maintain various types of forklift trucks including electric, gas-powered, and propane powered.
• Test forklift trucks to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance for forklift trucks.
• Ensure batteries for electric forklift trucks are fully charged.
• Replace empty propane tanks on propane-powered forklift trucks.
• Maintain repair log for forklift truck fleet.
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Must be physically capable of accessing all parts of the forklift truck needing repairs or maintenance, either by kneeling or lying on back.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
