Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking a Level II Technician to perform maintenance on LP and electric forklifts. The ideal candidate is an expert in either LP or electrical systems and can self‑manage repairs with minimal supervision.

The role requires mechanical know‑how, basic automotive experience, and comfort working outdoors in varying conditions. You will handle preventive maintenance, tune‑ups, battery work, and parts replacements, reporting to a lead tech or manager.

Qualifications

1–2 years experience troubleshooting electric or LP equipment.
Experience in basic repairs of electric or LP equipment.
Experience in attachment repairs.
Basic electrical, LP, hydraulic systems, and DVOM knowledge.
Basic wiring schematic reading.
Must be able to read and follow service manuals.
Must have good customer service skills.
Must provide own hand tools.
Familiarity with MS Office.
Post high school/technical school education desirable.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must lift/pull 75 lbs or more.
Work outdoors in inclement weather; tolerate noise/respiratory hazards.
Stand or lie down for extended periods; flexible movement required.
Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

Perform PM services on forklift LP and electric.
Fluid changes, engine oil, transmission fluid, differential gear lube, and hydraulic fluid.
Filter replacements and related maintenance.
Tune-ups and spark plug/wire replacements.
Brake and riser adjustments.
Inspect and repack wheel bearings.
Inspect and water forklift batteries on schedule; battery work as needed.
Paint touch ups and parts replacements (horns, lights, tires).
Basic overheating troubleshooting and repair.
Steering troubleshooting and repair.
Meet 30 completed PM services per month; maintain high productivity.
