Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to operate excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, backhoes, and related machinery on wind, industrial, and infrastructure projects in Texas. The role emphasizes safety, efficient material handling, and coordination with crews to meet project timelines.

Expect long shifts up to 50 hours per week with strong emphasis on safety, maintenance, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Familiar with MIC Health and Safety programs.
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews.
• Model safe behavior and adherence to procedures.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
• Basic arithmetic for weights, measurements, and material calculations.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavator, dozer, loaders, forklifts, backhoe, and active light equipment.
• Maintain and repair equipment; complete daily maintenance reports.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew using signals and project plans.
• Move dirt, rock, and materials; excavate trenches with proper slopes.
• Travel to different job sites as needed; support other duties as assigned.
